Frequently Asked Questions

What does "scope" mean?

Your plan scope determines which stations you get full data access for (downloads, alerts, API). The free plan lets you browse and view everything on the map, but downloads and alerts are limited. Paid plans let you select specific sites, watersheds (HUC8), or entire states for full access.

Can I change my selected stations/states later?

Yes. You can change your scope selections anytime from your account settings. Site Pack users can swap stations, Watershed users can swap HUC8s, and State users can swap states.

What states are covered?

All 50 US states plus DC and Puerto Rico — over 2,600 USGS and state agency monitoring stations.

How are forecasts generated?

Each station has a Ridge regression model trained on observed water temperature, air temperature, dewpoint, humidity, discharge, and seasonal patterns. Models are retrained monthly with accumulating data.

Can I try before I buy?

The Free Explorer plan gives you full access to the interactive map, real-time readings, and forecasts for every station. You can see exactly what data is available before subscribing.
